Be sure to check out our fun math game tonight!  Your child's hw is to play this game with someone. Get creative with modeling tens and ones (sticks, rocks, Legos, blocks, straws, etc).

We read/watched Chrysanthemum on Bookflix and then discussed and charted the story elements (characters, setting, problem and solution) on a graphic organizer.

Officer Gloria and Buckle

                                     

We also watched Officer Buckle and Gloria, a book about following rules and teamwork. We then discussed why school rules and following rules throughout our life are so important. Some students chose to act out their rules and we guessed them. 

Recess Queen

                         

After reading Recess Queen we discussed how NOT to be a bully. We brainstormed a list of things bullies do versus what friends do. We also talked about the characters, setting and problem/solution in the story aka story elements. We really knew our stuff. 

First Day Fun
